Have you ever been frustrated just trying to find the perfect gift for a loved one or even a close friend? How often have you been to the store and are stuck because you have no idea of their likes or dislikes? Or are you the type of person who hates shopping because of the time it takes to wait in line or even because you say to yourself that you are not the type of person who enjoys shopping? So many times, I have heard people say, "oh, I have no idea what I'm looking for or even where to begin." What if I tell you that I have the perfect guide to help you achieve your shopping goals? There are many factors to consider when you are shopping for the right gift. But today, I will only talk about the top 3 essential things you need to help your shopping experience go smoothly.

1. What is the occasion?

The first step is very critical and necessary. It knows the occasion for which you are gifting. It may sound simple, but it is imperative. Once you know what the event is, it will help you narrow down what section of the store you should be searching in, whether it's a Birthday, Anniversary, Baby Shower, Wedding, or even Valentine's day. Not only would it narrow down the section of the store to search but also the store. I can count numerous times where I have been shopping for a birthday gift, and it was easy for me because I knew what particular store had what was looking to purchase. For example, if it's for a kids' birthday party, you might consider going to Oshkosh, Baby gap, or even the children's place to make a purchase, which brings me to my second tip.

2. Understand the individuals' favorite items

Understanding the individuals' favorite items can be fascinating while shopping for a loved one; Could you imagine finding out that their likes and dislikes could be the same as yours. Asking questions is a great way to get an idea of what you could purchase for them. Some questions you could ask them before the upcoming event could be:
What is their favorite color?
Do they have a favorite sports team?
What are some of their favorite hobbies?
What is their favorite store?
What are some of their favorite pets? Etc.
Becoming familiar with your loved one favorite colors, hobbies, restaurants, or even television show is the initial step in selecting the perfect gift. It helps to cut back the guessing game.

3. Established a budget
If you are the type of person who enjoys budgeting, I suggest establishing a budget before leaving the house. Knowing how much you would like to spend is very important. It is good to set a minimum to maximum range. Let's say, for example, your budget is $50, and you go inside a store. They are having a buy one get one 50% off sale, right then you know that you can buy one item at regular price for however much it's listed for and still have enough money left over to either purchase a second item or save the rest of for another event. Budgeting helps you not to overthink or over shop. It is always good to have an idea of how much money you would like to spend, that way shopping is a breeze for you.

In short, this secret gift-giving guide will help you. Just remember, Shopping for gifts can be easy if you hold on to these three essential steps.
First, Know the occasion for which you are shopping.
